Fast Design and Advanced Optics

Belonging to Sony’s distinguished G Master lineup, this lens delivers exceptional resolution and sharpness by effectively correcting numerous spherical and chromatic aberrations. Its bright f/1.8 aperture enhances performance in low-light environments while providing precise focus control with shallow depth of field. The rounded 11-blade diaphragm produces smooth, attractive bokeh, ideal for selective focus applications.

The optical design includes a single XA element with exceptional surface accuracy to effectively manage astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and various spherical aberrations. The lens also incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements, one of which is a Super ED element, to minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing, enhancing clarity and color fidelity. Additionally, a Nano AR Coating is applied to suppress surface reflections, flare, and ghosting, resulting in improved contrast and color reproduction under challenging lighting conditions.

Fast and Accurate AF

The XD Linear Motor system combined with an internal focusing mechanism delivers fast, silent, and accurate autofocus, while also enabling smooth and intuitive manual focus adjustments. With a minimum focusing distance of just 70cm, the lens achieves a maximum magnification of 0.25x, making it well-suited for close-up work. Additionally, two customizable focus hold buttons on the lens barrel provide convenient tactile control and quick access to preferred settings.

Weather-Sealed Construction and Intuitive Handling
