Versatile Lens Construction

This lens includes an assignable AFL button for customizable control, along with a focus mode switch and an aperture ring lock. The aperture ring can be switched between clicked and de-clicked modes, enabling smooth aperture adjustments during video recording. Its front element features a water- and oil-repellent coating, allowing reliable use in challenging outdoor conditions, while the dust- and splash-resistant design safeguards the internal components. Additionally, a removable tripod socket compatible with Arca-type clamps provides enhanced stability for the lens’s weight and can be replaced with the included protective cover when not in use.

Complex Optical Design

Sigma integrates two aspherical elements alongside four F Low Dispersion (FLD) elements to maintain exceptional sharpness from an open aperture of f/1.4 throughout the entire aperture range. The optical construction consists of 17 elements arranged in 13 groups, paired with a 13-blade rounded diaphragm that produces smooth, circular bokeh while reducing vignetting and chromatic aberrations at the frame edges.
