The RODECaster Video merges professional HD video switching with studio-grade audio engineering in a single, versatile console. Purpose-built for content creators tackling streaming, podcasting, social media production, and live events, it delivers intuitive command over multiple video and audio sources through its 2" touchscreen, onboard controls, and rotary encoder. Comprehensive connectivity—HDMI, USB-C, and wireless options—supports up to 20 audio sources or nine stereo channels simultaneously, accommodating both analog and digital inputs. Seamlessly integrate with your existing RODE ecosystem via USB-C audio ports or RODE Central software for granular device management and configuration.

Video Interface

The RODECaster Video delivers sophisticated video production capabilities with nine mix-effect layers viewable simultaneously in preview and program modes. Dual downstream keyers manage overlays and logos while dual chroma-keyers control background switching, complemented by two media players for concurrent MP4 video, PNG/JPG imagery, or WAV audio playback from microSD card storage. Its comprehensive multiview interface consolidates program and preview feeds, live input monitoring with scene and media thumbnails, audio mixer status, and recording/network/storage metrics in one display. Handle six 1080p60 video sources across four HDMI and two USB-C inputs, construct up to seven layered scenes combining video, media, and graphics, then save and instantly recall them. Non-destructive editing enables live configuration without production interruption. Dual HDMI outputs support independent preview and program monitoring for streamlined workflow management.

Audio Sources

The RODECaster Video integrates professional-grade audio architecture with dual studio combo XLR-1/4" inputs featuring low-noise Revolution Preamps delivering up to 75 dB gain and -131.5 dBV equivalent input noise floor for pristine signal capture. Native USB-C connectivity accommodates RODE USB microphones, RODECaster Pro II, and Duo Audio Production Studios, while additional USB-C ports enable 2-in/2-out multichannel routing, mix-minus feeds, and MFi protocol support. Integrated wireless receivers directly interface with RODE Series IV wireless systems including Wireless GO II and Wireless PRO microphones. Comprehensive Aphex VoxLab processing delivers per-channel EQ, compression, noise gating, high-pass filtering, de-essing, Aural Exciter, Big Bottom, and Compellor capabilities. Control audio mixing and effects processing via the onboard touchscreen and rotary encoder or leverage RODE Central's software mixer for advanced parameter management.

Intuitive Controls

The RODECaster Video streamlines production with intuitive scene-based switching and dedicated front-panel controls. Automated chroma keying handles background replacement in blue or green screen modes, while seven media buttons and dual video players manage clips, images, and audio from microSD card storage. Seven graphic buttons trigger transparent overlays and graphics in real time across your scenes.

Inspect Button

When pressed, the Inspect feature gives you a detailed snapshot of what video input is assigned to it as well as media, graphics, and layout information on the integrated screen. Preview the button in your Multiview while maintaining the ability to instantly switch between sources.

Intelligent Auto-Switching

The RODECaster Video's intelligent auto-switching makes for seamless and creative hands-free switching between video sources. Any audio input can be linked to any video source, allowing intelligent level detection to automatically trigger switching when your talent is speaking to follow the conversation. Switching priorities and screen time algorithms give it a natural feel as if a producer or technical director were calling the shots.

Intuitive Streaming and Recording

Stream up to 100 Mb/s directly using RTMP to major platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Live via integrated Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet connection. Real-time signal health reporting is displayed on your multiview. Record directly to an external USB storage device or internal microSD card, including isolated (ISO) recording for more flexible postproduction workflows. You can record your program feed as an H.264/AVC MP4 file with embedded AAC stereo mix. Multiple audio tracks can be recorded as nine independent stereo WAV files.

RODE Central

Use the RODE Central companion software when connected to a computer to adjust more advanced features of the RODECaster Video. Construct scenes using remote control, configure automatic switching based on audio inputs, mix audio, and configure streaming settings and profiles as well as adjust advanced settings and customizations. The software supports macOS and Windows operating systems.
