47.3MP Full-Frame MOS Sensor and Venus Engine

Boasting a full-frame 47.3MP MOS sensor and updated Venus Engine, the S1R offers optimal high-resolution recording, sensitivity, and dynamic range. Its design includes a low-pass filter and aspherical micro lenses for improved light and color accuracy. With processing power and anti-reflective coating, noise is reduced and fast continuous shooting speeds up to 9 fps are achieved.

UHD 4K Video Recording

In addition to stills, S1R offers UHD 4K60p video with 4:2:0 8-bit color and unlimited recording. High-speed recording of UHD 4K60 and Full HD 180 fps allows for 2x and 6x slower motion. External recording, microphone, and headphone options are also available.

Body Design

L-mount is a versatile mount with a 51.6mm diameter and 20mm flange distance, suitable for a wide range of optics. The camera features a high-resolution 5.76m-dot OLED EVF, a large 3.2" 2.1m-dot LCD, and a top status LCD for quick review of shooting settings. The durable, weather-sealed construction allows for use in harsh conditions while the ergonomic design includes illuminated buttons and a lock lever. Dual memory card slots and various ports offer flexibility and convenience. The rechargeable battery provides approximately 360-380 shots per charge. The camera also has a high precision shutter mechanism tested for 400,000 actuations.

Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization

Improve sharpness with Dual I.S. 2, combining the S1R's 5-axis and lens-based stabilization. Perfect for handheld photography. Compatible with Lumix lenses featuring O.I.S and compensating for 6 stops of shake.

DFD Autofocus System

DFD technology quickly calculates distance to subjects and adjusts focus position in 0.08 seconds with a 480 fps communication rate. Advanced AI Technology intelligently tracks moving subjects and prioritizes focus, with face/eye detection for portraits. 225 AF areas and Low Light AF feature for low-light conditions, along with focus peaking and Touch MF Assist for manual focus. AF Point Scope and custom selectable AF zone are also included.

6K and 4K PHOTO

Utilizing the S1R's video recording, there are 3 modes for continuous shooting: 8MP at 60 or 30fps, 18MP at 30fps. Burst for continuous recording, Pre-Burst for capturing prior and after moments, and Burst (S/S) for playing back video and saving frames as 8 or 18MP.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

The camera has multiple wireless options, including Bluetooth Low Energy (4.2), IEEE 802.11ac, and b/g/n, for quick transmission and remote control. Use Lumix Sync, an iOS and Android app, for wireless remote shooting and image transfer.

Other Camera Features

  • By using sensor-shift stabilization technology, the S1R features a High Resolution mode to capture and compile eight separate exposure to create a single 187MP raw or JPEG file. Suitable for static subjects and when working on a tripod, this mode creates a more highly detailed and color accurate image than a single shot alone can produce and produces an image with a 16736 x 11168-pixel resolution.
  • HLG Photo mode offers increased dynamic range for improved detail in shadow and highlight regions of the image. When working in HLG Photo mode, images can be saved as an HSP file in either 8K or 4K resolution, in addition to JPEG and raw formats, for vivid playback on televisions.
  • In addition to conventional 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, and 16:9 ratios, photos can also be recorded in 65:24 and 2:1 panoramic formats.
  • I.S. Status Scope helps to recognize the type of camera shake being caused by displaying an arrow in the viewfinder or on the rear LCD.
  • Flicker Decrease automatically detects the frequency/flicker of artificial lighting and activates the shutter at peak brightness moments to render exposures with consistent exposure and color.
  • Helping to contain bright highlights, Highlight Weighted Metering mode prioritizes highlight values when making an exposure metering in order to prevent scenes from blowing out.
  • Offering more versatility than standard Auto White Balance (AWB), an AWBw setting will retain a reddish warm tint while AWBc offers a cooler, bluish tint.
  • Lumix Tether enables wired, tethered shooting capabilities via USB connection between the camera and a computer. Aside from offering a larger live view preview, this application also permits remotely triggering the shutter, use of 6K and 4K Photo modes, and video recording start/stop.
  • Photo Style modes: Standard, Vivid, Natural, Flat, Landscape, Portrait, Monochrome, L. Monochrome, L. Monochrome D, Cinelike D, Cinelike V, Like709, Standard (HLG), Monochrome (HLG), Like2100, and My Photo Style.
