The Nikon Z50 II Mirrorless Camera Body is perfect for up-and-coming creators, with a compact size and impressive 20.9MP APS-C CMOS sensor. It's compatible with NIKKOR Z lenses and can shoot up to 30 fps, with a broad ISO range for different lighting conditions and reduced noise in images.
Nikon's Most Advanced Autofocus
The Z50 II harnesses advanced autofocus technology derived from Nikon's flagship Z9, delivering intelligent subject recognition across nine categories including people, wildlife, aircraft, and cyclists. Its dedicated Bird Detection mode excels in specialized shooting scenarios. In Auto-Area AF mode, the camera autonomously identifies, locks onto, and maintains focus on moving subjects throughout the frame. The refined Eye-Detection AF system provides enhanced precision in locating and tracking eyes with superior accuracy, while seamlessly integrating with custom Wide-Area AF settings to accommodate diverse subject proportions and compositions.
Pre-Release Capture
The EXPEED 7 processor also unlocks Pre-Release Capture, a feature that helps make decisive moment shots easier by recording frames in a burst for up to a second prior to actually releasing the shutter. When this feature is activated, burst shooting will commence when the shutter is half-pressed, and the buffer will retain the frames after fully pressing the shutter.
UHD 4K Video Recording
Beyond still photography, the Z50 II elevates videography with UHD 4K capture at 60 fps and Full HD at 120 fps. Features include a dedicated Product Review mode, extended recording duration up to two hours, video self-timer functionality, and integrated electronic Vibration Reduction for stabilized footage. Video files can be saved to internal memory cards or routed to external recorders via HDMI output. The camera supports in-camera time-lapse with direct UHD 4K file generation. As a Nikon first, it meets UAC and UAV compliance standards for live web-streaming capabilities. Internal 10-bit video recording with N-Log LUT support and four RED LUT options enable advanced color grading workflows for professional post-production.
Color Control for Creators
Nikon has added a Picture Control button atop the Z50 II to make access to its 31 built-in presets available even in Auto mode. The color presets can now be overlaid in the rear LCD screen, giving you the ability to visualize the color shifts as you create. Creator Recipes built by fellow Nikon shooters are available through the Nikon Imaging Cloud and can be downloaded and integrated alongside the presets. Additionally, Nikon provides a one-year subscription to their Cloud Picture Controls software, so you can use your own presets with professional editing tools.
Body Design and Connectivity
The 3.2" touchscreen LCD features a 180° flip-under design for selfies and live view work, with enhanced Touch FN for precise focus control. The redesigned electronic viewfinder is twice as bright as previous generations for clear composition. Built-in flash and hot shoe support Night Portrait mode for balanced exposures. Connectivity includes USB-C charging, microphone and HDMI ports, MC-DC3 remote release, and SnapBridge wireless transfer. The EN-EL25a battery supports in-camera charging, while the UHS-II SD card slot enables fast image and video storage.
