Its innovative design includes a top-mounted OLED panel that displays aperture and focus information at a glance, while an assignable L.Fn button allows for quick exposure and setting adjustments directly from the lens. The lens comes with two interchangeable hoods: the compact HB-96 and the HB-97, which supports 112mm threaded filters. A programmable control ring offers seamless control over various camera and exposure parameters.

The Nano Crystal Coat controls incidental light from a diagonal direction while the ARNEO Coat controls incidental light from a vertical direction.
