Helping compensate for the visually distracting hand shake common with using 10x and greater optics, is a wide 63° apparent viewing angle. This allows the use of high-magnification binoculars without the need for stabilization equipment like harnesses or tripods.

Leica enhanced the glass with specially formulated SCHOTT HT glass to increase light transmission, improve color fidelity, and enhance low-light performance. The outer lenses are protected by scratch- and abrasion-resistant High Durable Coating (HDC) and hydrophobic AquaDura coating, which repels water and oil for easier cleaning and clearer vision. The roof prisms have P40 phase correction and proprietary High Lux System (HLS) coatings to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration, resulting in improved color rendition and increased contrast.

In addition to its superior optical capabilities, the binoculars also boast strong construction features. A lightweight magnesium alloy frame and a titanium center hinge axle reduce user fatigue during extended use. The nitrogen-filled optical tubes ensure fogproof performance, while also allowing the binoculars to be submerged to a depth of 5m or withstand a pressure of 0.5 bar. The ergonomic thumb indents on the bottom of the binoculars, along with the protective rubber armoring, provide a comfortable and non-slip grip. The lubrication-free focus system enables quick and precise focusing, and the PETP-Discs ensure smooth movement even in extreme temperatures.
