What's Included

The Leica M11-P Rangefinder Camera is a favorite among photojournalists for its blend of modern and classic design, as well as its revolutionary Content Authenticity Initiative technology. It has a discreet profile and enhanced features, such as a 256GB internal storage and sapphire cover glass for the rear touchscreen LCD.
Leica Content Credentials with Content Authenticity Initiative Technology
The M11-P is the first camera with Content Authenticity (CAI) tech, developed by Adobe with The New York Times and Leica. This technology, called Leica Content Credentials, encrypts image metadata and can be verified and added to in compatible apps like Adobe Photoshop. The goal is to increase viewer trust and allow creators to maintain credits.
60MP Full-Frame BSI CMOS Sensor
The M11-P's 60MP full-frame CMOS sensor features a back-illuminated design for improved noise performance and faster readout speeds. This higher resolution is ideal for detail-oriented photography such as landscapes and architecture, while the BSI design enhances clarity and color accuracy in low-light situations with higher ISO settings. The sensor also includes an updated ultra-thin dual-layer filter glass to absorb UV and IR wavelengths, resulting in greater clarity and more accurate rendering with M lenses.
Triple Resolution Technology
M11-P Rangefinder Camera has Triple Resolution Technology, offering 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP output with improved dynamic range and 14-bit color.
- 60MP: 14 stops of dynamic range, highest resolution
- 36MP: 15 stops of dynamic range, best balance of resolution and noise
- 18MP: 15 stops of dynamic range, lowest noise levels
Maestro III Image Processor
The Maestro III processor contributes to the faster processing and Triple Resolution Technology of the M11-P, as well as helps achieve a wider sensitivity range than in past M cameras. An ISO 64-50000 range is now available for greater detail, quality, and natural color rendering at lower ISO settings. The Maestro III also enables continuous shooting at up to 4.5 fps and facilitates fast file saving for an intuitive shooting experience.
Imaging Improvements
The M11-P is a photo-only camera with manual operation and updates for modern functionality. It features an electronic shutter for faster shooting and two digital zoom options for simulating longer focal lengths. Multi-field exposure metering is available for accurate exposures. Long Exposure Noise Reduction is also included.
Optical Viewfinder and Rear LCD
The M11-P camera features a bright and large 0.73x-magnification rangefinder with automatic compensation and customizable options for focal lengths. The touchscreen LCD has an updated design with improved visibility in sunlight and increased scratch resistance. The revised menu layout offers more intuitive navigation and quick settings changes. Live view stabilization helps reduce camera shake and improves manual focus accuracy.
Updated Body Design and Handling
Despite the M11-P's similarity to past M cameras, it features a variety of notable changes to its body design:
- This black finish version of the M11 features an aluminum top plate with a scratch-resistant coating. This design is about 20% lighter than the silver-chrome version, which features a brass top plate, and weighs 1.2 lb with the battery installed.
- The M11 line is the first M camera to not feature a removable baseplate; instead, the M11-P borrows a design from the Q and SL systems and uses a new BP-SCL7 battery that is inserted directly into the base of the camera body.
- BP-SCL7 lithium-ion battery has 64% more capacity than the previous generation's battery and is CIPA-rated for 700 shots per charge. However, if working with the optical viewfinder only, approximately 1700 shots per charge is possible.
- Design also incorporates a single UHS-II SD memory card slot within the battery compartment.
- Built-in 256GB memory, increased from 64GB in the base M11, means you can forgo using a memory card altogether, or use the internal memory in conjunction with an SD card to simulate having dual card slots for splitting file types or for overflow storage. Image files can also be transferred from the internal memory to the SD card for easy backup.
- USB type-C port on the base permits in-camera battery charging and file transferring.
- The USB type-C port can be used in conjunction with the included FOTOS Cable, which allows direct attachment to an Apple iPhone via the Leica FOTOS app for easy file management and sharing.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can also be used for wireless connecting the camera to an iOS device using the FOTOS app.
- In-app geotagging is possible along with the ability to select favorites and apply ratings to images via your mobile device.
