The Leica 7x42 Ultravid HD-Plus Binoculars use specially formulated SCHOTT HT glass, increasing light transmission in the blue-violet light band while improving color fidelity and low-light performance. The outer lenses feature Scratch- and abrasion-resistant High Durable Coating (HDC) and hydrophobic AquaDura coating, for easier cleaning and clearer vision as water and oil bead off. With P40 phase correction and proprietary High Lux System (HLS) coatings on the roof prisms, chromatic aberration is virtually eliminated for enhanced color rendition and increased contrast.

The Leica 7x42 Ultravid HD-Plus Binoculars feature superior construction details to enhance their optical performance. The chassis is expertly crafted from a strong and lightweight magnesium alloy, with a titanium center hinge axle to reduce user fatigue during long periods of use. The optical tubes are also nitrogen filled for fogproof performance and are sealed, making the binoculars submersible up to 5m or 0.5 bar of pressure. For added comfort and grip, the bottom of the binoculars features ergonomic thumb indents and protective rubber armoring. Additionally, the lubrication-free focus system with PETP-Discs allows for fast and precise focusing, even in extreme temperatures.
