The 67-degree apparent viewing angle of the Leica 10x50 Ultravid HD-Plus Binoculars helps counteract hand shake, a common distraction when using high-magnification optics. This wide angle eliminates the need for stabilization equipment such as harnesses or tripods, although these devices can still be useful for high-powered binoculars.

Leica Binoculars utilize tailored SCHOTT HT extra-low dispersion glass to boost light transmission in the blue-violet light spectrum, improve color accuracy, and enhance low-light visibility. The outer lenses are safeguarded by a durable HDC coating against scratches and abrasions, while the hydrophobic AquaDura coating repels water and oil for effortless cleaning and improved vision. The P40 phase correction and proprietary HLS coatings on the roof prisms eliminate chromatic aberration, resulting in improved color reproduction, enhanced contrast, and sharper overall images.

The optical performance is enhanced by meticulous construction details. To minimize discomfort during extended viewing sessions, the frame utilizes a sturdy magnesium alloy and a titanium center hinge axle that resists wear. Nitrogen is infused into the optical tubes for fogproof performance, and the binoculars are sealed to withstand submergence under 5m or 0.5 bar of pressure. Ergonomic thumb indents and rubber armoring offer a secure and comfortable grip. The focus system is lubrication-free for rapid and precise adjustment, utilizing PETP-Discs for smooth operation in various temperatures.
