The XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR II is FUJIFILM's refined standard zoom for X-Mount mirrorless cameras, delivering a versatile 24-84mm equivalent focal range. Its constant f/2.8 aperture excels in challenging light and shallow depth-of-field work, while enhanced optical performance maximizes detail on 40MP sensors. Engineered for durability with weather resistance, this second-generation lens combines professional capability with a more compact, lightweight design than its predecessor.

Optical Design

Its optical design comprises aspherical elements, extra-low dispersion elements, and a super extra-low dispersion element, all of which help to reduce distortion and color fringing for improved sharpness and color accuracy throughout the zoom range. A fluorine coating has also been applied to protect the front element by repelling water, oil, and fingerprints.

• Three extra-low dispersion elements and a Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.
• Four aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, which helps to improve sharpness and realize more accurate rendering.

Quiet Autofocus

• A Linear Motor autofocus system delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is now faster and more accurate, which is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.
• Focus wobble and subject searching is also minimized for clarity during important takes.
• The de-clickable aperture ring allows for quiet and precise control of the lens during video recording.
• Rounded 11-blade diaphragm delivers smoother, more rounded bokeh to add a pleasing out-of-focus quality to selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Weather-Resistant Design

The lens body incorporates extensive weather sealing to protect against dust and moisture, enabling worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as -10°C.
