What's Included

Designed for creators ready to move beyond smartphone photography, the Fujifilm X-M5 Mirrorless Camera combines a compact design with a robust APS-C X-Trans 4 CMOS sensor. It features an audio and video-friendly interface and supports all FUJIFILM X-mount lenses. With 20 renowned film simulation modes, advanced AI-powered subject detection autofocus, and a classic retro aesthetic, the X-M5 offers professional tools that redefine your creative possibilities.
Bigger Sensor, Better Image
As the first X-M series camera released in over ten years, the Fujifilm X-M5 features the same 26.1 MP X-Trans 4 CMOS sensor found in the acclaimed X100V and the X-Processor 5 from the X100VI. This sensor is over 16 times larger than a typical smartphone sensor, delivering enhanced light capture for richer colors, finer detail, and improved performance in low-light conditions. Its unique randomized pixel layout imitates the natural characteristics of film, yielding smooth color transitions and minimizing digital noise. The APS-C sensor size also enables a shallower depth of field, allowing for more pronounced background blur and clearer subject separation.
Optimized Audio
The X-M5 is engineered to meet the demands of modern content creators, delivering exceptional audio and video capabilities. It includes three integrated microphones and offers four distinct sound capture modes—Surround, Front Priority, Back Priority, and Front & Back Priority—to tailor audio recording to various environments. Additionally, a 3.5mm microphone input provides expanded control over audio input, while advanced in-camera algorithms enhance voice clarity and reduce background noise for optimal sound quality.
6.2K video at up to 29.97 fps
The X-M5 supports open-gate 6.2K video recording at up to 29.97 fps, utilizing the full 3:2 native aspect ratio sensor for exceptional video quality. It offers several features tailored for self-taping, most accessible via the dedicated Vlog mode. Background Defocus mode creates a blurred backdrop to emphasize the subject, while Product Priority mode shifts focus automatically to items placed closer to the lens, ideal for demonstrations. Portrait Enhancer applies skin-smoothing effects with adjustable intensity levels—Weak, Medium, and Strong. Additionally, the 9:16 Short Movie mode provides vertical video recording options of 15, 30, and 60 seconds, enabling creators to produce social media-ready content directly from the camera.
A distinct red border appears around the screen during recording to clearly indicate active video capture. Enhancing the recording experience, the X-M5 employs the X-Processor 5’s AI-powered autofocus, featuring eye-tracking and subject recognition for precise focus. It offers two Log modes to facilitate advanced color grading in post-production. The camera supports various video resolutions and frame rates, including slow-motion capture at 60 fps in 4K and up to 240 fps in Full HD.
Film Simulations and Color Science
Renowned for its color science, FUJIFILM has outfitted the X-M5 with 20 Film Simulation modes to reproduce the look and feel of several of the company's storied film types. The camera's true-to-life results can be interpreted with these film simulations, eight of which are accessible on one of the camera's top dials. The modes can simplify workflows by producing edited material straight out of the camera.
In addition to simulating specific film types, a Grain Effect mode is also available to replicate the look of old film photos with an organic textured appearance. Color Chrome and Color Chrome Blue effects are also available to deepen color, tonal response, and gradation with higher saturation colors.
Design and Build
The X-M5 is the smallest and lightest X-series body, weighing 355g without a lens and spanning 112mm wide. Keeping with the FUJIFILM aesthetic and X-series design philosophy, the black rangefinder-style body comes with a series of top dials to set mode, film simulation, and adjust settings. The interchangeable lens mount accepts any of the more than 35 X-series lenses, with the option to connect other lenses with an appropriate, optional adapter.
The Fujifilm X-M5 includes a 3" articulating LCD touchscreen designed specifically for self-taping. To enhance usability for creators, FUJIFILM relocated the connector ports to the right side, preventing cable obstruction of the monitor. The microphone input was also moved to the rear to better accommodate content creation accessories. With built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, users can wirelessly transfer images to mobile devices or operate the camera remotely. Integration with Frame.io Camera to Cloud enables instant upload of photos and videos to the cloud. The camera features a single SD card slot supporting UHS-I speeds, and the NP-W126S battery offers approximately 45 minutes of continuous 6K video recording or around 440 shots in Economy mode.
