Canon's 10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binoculars, now in their second generation, utilize the IS system from the lens systems to create a compact optic that effectively reduces hand-shake. This makes them perfect for bird or nature watching and sporting events, providing smoother views and panning by compensating for external shaking through the use of vari-angle prisms and internal gyro sensors. Proprietary algorithms and a microcomputer enhance IS operation, allowing for shorter startup times and more efficient energy consumption.

Beyond the image stabilization performance are optical features that improve image overall image quality. This begins with Canon's anti-reflection Super Spectra multicoatings to reduce light loss and improve image contrast. Next, they employ a Porro prism optical path that provides a rich depth of field to enable users to better judge distance between objects and a comfortable long 14.5mm eye relief. A doublet field-flattener corrects spherical aberration for distortion-free views, especially at the edges, and wide angle 60° apparent angle of view deliver a truly immersive observational experience. The binoculars run on two included and readily available AA batteries that will power the binoculars for up to nine hours at 25°C. Designed for portability and ease of use, they measures in with a compact length of 127mm and weighs just over 600g.
