The morning of September 12 found the Cameraland team along with 40 photographers on board a City Sightseeing Bus and geared to enjoy some of the best Mother City photo ops around. After a quick registration and some much-needed coffee at the Cameraland store, the bus departed from Long Street at 08:30AM and proceeded to take us along some of the best scenic routes Cape Town has to offer. Stopping at Groot Constantia, Hout Bay and Camps Bay, we were treated to a morning of breath-taking scenery and great conversation with like-minded individuals, energizing all for the weekend ahead!
And The Winner Is…
There’s nothing quite like a little competition to bring out the best in you! While the morning was peppered with spot prizes to keep everyone on the edge of their Red Bus seats, the prize on everyone’s mind was the Canon EOS 1200D and 18-55mm DC Starter Kit worth R3799! With all the passionate and rather talented photographers sending their pictures of the day our way, the judges did not have an easy time selecting the winner.
We’re so excited to announce that this coveted bundle of joy has been awarded to Hugh Roberts for his superb portrait of a gentleman by the name of Alfonso at the Hout Bay stop. (Aperture F/3.2 | Exp: 1/1250s | ISO: 100)
We also have the very happy task of awarding second prize (Canon backpack and SanDisk 8GB Extreme Pro SD Card) to the talented Kim Stevens for her creative double exposure.
We were so inspired by the passion and enthusiasm with which all attendees participated via social media. The prize (Sansa Clip Mp3 player) for best photo shared to social media was won by Susan Crichton-Stuart for her striking black and white portrait submitted via Facebook.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for a morning of photographic frolicking in the beautiful city of Cape Town and congratulations to all the winners! Feel free to have a look at other submissions as well as our official album covering the day’s events over at our Facebook page.
