With a crisp February morning well underway, a group of Instagrammers merrily boarded a red open-top bus destined for the sprawling vineyards and delectable vino synonymous with Groot Constantia. Cameraland was invited along and, as with any event that involves breath-taking views, proudly South African wine and enthusiastic shutterbugs, we happily obliged.
While the weather was slightly moody on Sunday morning, the upbeat attitudes of Instagrammers and City Sightseeing staff kept our spirits high as we made our way to South Africa’s oldest wine-producing estate. On arrival, we were quickly warmed up with a delicious welcome drink and invited to explore and get a few shots of the vineyards before meeting up at the cellar for a tour and tutored wine and chocolate pairing session. A little more knowledgeable on the wine-making process and little less steady thanks to the lavish chocolate and wine combinations, we made our way down to a picnic setting to enjoy gourmet picnic baskets courtesy of Simon’s Deli. Of course, Groot Constantia also provided a seemingly endless supply of Blanc de Noir and Sauvignon Blanc to go right along with it.
This picturesque setting is definitely something everyone should enjoy when in the Mother City! All in all, a wonderful day spent in a beautiful setting with the most intriguing creatives for company. Really, we couldn’t have asked for anything better on a moody Sunday in the city.
The level of passion Cape Town Instagrammers have for photography always inspires us to no end! If you haven’t yet, be sure to stop by the shop and enjoy our Pop-Up Instagram Exhibition running for the month of February 2016. All prints are for sale at R100 each.
